We invite our passengers who join us every year and also those who have yet to experience Virginia City fun to join us again in 2011 for the travel experience of your life as we make our way over historic Donner Pass to Reno, Nevada for the last snow of the season. Step aboard the opulent Virginia City and experience all the romance and nostalgia of a bygone era. Riding a Snowflake Adventure you’ll experience the spectacular snowy scenery of the Sierra-Nevada mountains along with fine food, cocktails and our warm and friendly staff who will pamper you as you relax in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The Virginia City features the same luxury amenities found on expensive cruise trains. Aboard the Virginia City you’ll ride the rails the way the railroad barons of old did, on our brass-railed open observation platform. If you get cold you can come inside and warm up next to a working fireplace in the elegantly appointed lounge. Then enjoy a gourmet meal under the ornate 19th century hand-made crystal chandelier in our dining room. All meals are served on custom china, gold plated flatware and crystal stemware on linen tablecloths with fresh napery and flowers. PLEASE BOOK YOUR TRIP NOW! The cost for round trip fare per person includes round-trip rail transportation, elegant gourmet meals, sumptuous hors d’ oeuvres, beverages and cocktail service. (However, it does exclude gratuity.) The fare is non-refundable within 30 days of travel. Fares will be refunded in full should the trip be cancelled due to insufficient bookings. We’ve been making this run for over 20 years, each trip is better than the next. Each year we seem to see more and more of the same faces, making this a true tradition! This year we hope to top them all by making it the biggest Snowflake yet! We’ll start with our signature Champagne brunch, followed by an afternoon of spectacular sight seeing as we climb from the valley floor to the snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains. As we get closer to Reno an afternoon tea service will be set out, with plenty of savory appetizers and succulent sweets for everyone.
Day 2 Reno! The day is yours, Virginia City Rail doesn’t need to tell you how to spend it. Enjoy one of Reno’s many casinos, live performances or music venues. There is plenty of stimulus around, but don’t be shy about asking the crew for tips on local attractions.

The only thing better than taking the Snowflake to Reno is taking it back to San Francisco! Waiting on board are all your new friends eager to share their stories about winning and losing in the “biggest little city” in the world! You will receive the same great service on your way home as we roll out an entire day of beautiful scenery, delicious food, and great company. Our 3 course lunch is sure to impress even the most experienced palate. Even though today is the end of our voyage, its not the end of your experience.
