Coming soon The Virginia City will be seen in Architectural Digest - July 2002 and Forbes Magazine - August 200
The article itself, entitled "The Last Magnifico" detailed Villas recollections of Beebe's last supper that took place on the evening of February 4, 1966. In the article, Villas not only recalls the fateful meal, but his early recollections as a young man when he first was introduced to Beebe aboard the Virginia City. This same article was rewritten slightly and appeared shortly thereafter in a magazine for Rolls Royce aficionados. In June, we were featured in "Fortune Magazine" complete with a picture of Wade seated on the red velvet-brocaded sofa of the Virginia City. The story's writer, Mr. Alan Farnham, was among our passengers and had journeyed all the way from New York to ride the Virginia City, (with his locally-based parents) and a photographer in tow, for our "Sweet Heart Special" in February. Our final piece of press for the year was a photograph of the parlor of the Virginia City and brief article in the "Los Angeles Times," briefly describing the special western private train. The photographer for the Times had nineteen exquisitely appointed private railcars to choose from -- and had the good taste to choose us! Forty-three years after Hollywood set designer Robert Hanley redecorated her, the Virginia City is still a sight to behold, or better yet, to be experienced! Also read about:
